Newspaper

A newspaper is a paper that carries news to us. It tells us what is happening at home and abroad. It gives us the current news of different parts of the world. It is one of the greatest inventions of modern age. Now-a-days it becomes a part and percel in our daily life. It is also called the store house of knowledge. It presents the world before our eyes.

Newspaper was first published in China. The "Indian Gazette " was published in 1774 in this sub-continent. "Samachar Darpan" was the first Bengali newspaper. At present, newspapers are published all over the world.

Newspapers are of various kinds. They are the dailies, the weeklies, the quarterlies, the monthlies etc. The daily newspapers are more popular and contain news of daily affairs and views of the whole world. The daily newspapers are The Prothom-Alo,The Dainik Bangla, The Ittefaq,The Bangladesh Observer,The Independence etc.

Newspaper benefits us in many ways. We can know easily what is happening in the other parts of the world by reading newspaper. It has made the world closer to information in It. It contains the news of politics of mass-communication. We get all kinds and sports and other affairs. People of all sections feel the necessity of newspapers.

Newspaper is the best medium of advertisement. Businessmen bring their products and goods in front of the customers through newspaper. People also express their opinion through newspaper. Newspaper has a great responsibility. Their duty is to lead the people and nation in a right way. But sometimes it publishes false news which creates public sentiment. So we should careful which news is correct or false.

Reading newspapers increases our knowledge. Newspaper is of great use to the students. It develops their general knowledge and knowledge of language. A man who does not read newspaper is like a frog in the well. Newspaper has become part and parcel of our modern civilization. We cannot think of a day without it.
